Peaks to Prairie Claims Consulting
Insurance Appraisal & Umpire Services
Resolving disputed property claims — fairly, accurately, and without litigation.
About the appraisal process
When a policyholder and an insurance carrier disagree on the amount of a loss, most property policies provide a solution: the appraisal clause. Each party appoints a competent, impartial appraiser, the two appraisers select an umpire, and an agreement between any two of the three sets the amount of loss. It's faster, less costly, and less adversarial than going to court.
Appraiser services
As a party-appointed appraiser, we independently evaluate the loss and prepare thorough, well-documented valuations built to hold up under scrutiny. Every appraisal is grounded in real construction knowledge — how repairs are actually performed and what they actually cost — paired with a working command of policy language.
Umpire services
When appraisers reach an impasse, we serve as the neutral third party. As umpire, we review both positions on their merits, inspect the loss when warranted, and issue a clear, well-reasoned award — bringing the dispute to a fair and timely close.
Why Peaks to Prairie
Our foundation is 10-plus years of hands-on construction experience, combined with licensure and credentials across the insurance industry, including producer, public adjuster, and appraisal designations. That means we understand insurance claims from every angle — the policy, the property, and the process — and we bring all of it to establishing what a loss is truly worth.
